Over Limit Gauge
Character Window
A simple status overview for each character is displayed.
Gald: Indicates how much money you have.
Play Time : Total playtime / Current playtime.
Max Hits : The highest hit combo achieved during battles.
SWITCH FORMATION
You can switch the order of the party members on the Top Menu. Move the cursor to the desired character window to switch and press the button. Then move the cursor to another character you want to switch with and confirm the selection with the
button.
NOTE: Switched formation here doesn’t relate to party formation when a battle starts.
PARTY MEMBER NUMBER & MAXIMUM BATTLE
ENGAGED CHARACTER
Up to 4 party members can join a battle. In the single player mode, you play as the first character.
Reserve Party Member
Characters after the fourth slot are reserve members.
SWITCH PARTY LEADER
When you move the cursor to the character window and press the button, the character becomes a party leader (displayed character on the Map Screen).
NOTE: This ability only becomes available once you acquire a specific item in the game.

Here you can check and assign the artes you have learned, use recovery artes, and change the control mode.

Characters learn new artes through battles and events. Screen displays vary depending on the control mode of characters.

CHARACTERS IN AUTO MODE

Availability Display
Characters only use artes that are “ON” during battle. Move the cursor and use the button to switch.
SELECT CONTROL MODE
There are three types of control modes for controlling your character during battle: Auto, Semi-Auto and Manual. To switch the control mode, use the View button. For single play, you control the character designated “1” on the Top Menu. Set Auto to the uncontrolled characters.
NOTE: Uncontrolled characters will not fight during battle if you set them to Manual or Semi-Auto.
THREE CONTROL MODES
Manual: The player entirely controls the character.
Semi-Auto: The player controls most of the character’s actions, but your character will automatically run towards the target when attacking.
Auto: The character will fight automatically based on the pre-set strategy settings.
MULTI PLAYER
This mode allows up to four players during a battle. When two or more people are playing, the second, third and fourth characters are available for players to control. Set the playable characters control mode as Manual or Semi-Auto.
DIFFERENCES BETWEEN MAGIC ARTES and STRIKE ARTES
MAGIC ARTE
Used by casting a spell and it is effective for attack, recover, support, etc. While most enemies can’t defend against magic artes, casting may take a while and you become vulnerable while casting.
STRIKE ARTE
A special technique that utilises weapons and a character’s body to attack enemies.
It doesn’t require a long wait before using again and can be used in combination with a normal attack.
ASSIGN ARTES
With the party characters whose control modes are Manual or Semi-Auto, you can assign up to four (4) artes in the Artes window. You can use the artes you have assigned by pressing the +
button during battle.

ASSIGNING ARTES
You can assign up to four (4) artes to characters whose control mode is set to Manual or Semi-Auto. Assigned artes can be used during battles by using the and the

LEARNING ARTES
You can learn new artes by leveling up your characters. Some artes can only be learned by using certain artes repeatedly during battle.
ASSIGN SHORTCUTS
Use the on the Artes Menu to scroll down to the Artes Shortcut window to assign shortcuts to artes used in battle. You can assign four additional artes shortcuts. You can also assign shortcuts to artes for characters other than the one you control. Use the

USE RECOVERY ARTES
Artes in green can be used outside of battle to recover HP and heal physical ailments. Use the or
to highlight the arte and press the

button to select it. Next, choose the target character and confirm with the
button to use the arte.
Equipment
Each character can equip one item, such as weapons, armour, and accessories per slot.

CHANGE EQUIPMENT
You can change equipment by selecting the equipment slot you wish to change and pressing the button. Then choose the item you wish to equip and press the

By pressing the button, you can equip the optimal set of equipment for a character. You can also remove non – equipment items by pressing the
button.

Blue indicates the stats increases and red indicates the stats decreases when equipped with the selected item.

USING ITEMS
Select an item you wish to use and press the button. Next, select the character you wish to use the item on and press the
button to confirm. You can also use the
button to equip.
SKILLS
Using skills can raise the character’s basic stats and enable special actions.
SKILLS SCREEN
Skills are linked with weapons. Whenever you use a weapon, its attached skill is activated. You can learn skills and when you set the skills you have learned, they become active regardless of which weapon you currently have equipped. On the Skills Screen, learned skills can be set and skills currently being learned can be checked. Use the /
to switch a character displayed.
Skill List
Indicates the required SP to set a learned skill, and the learning gauge for the skills being learned. Green letters indicate the skills currently set.
SP (Skill Point)
Indicates remaining points/maximum points. You can set learned skills to a character equivalent to the value of their remaining SP.

LEARNING SKILLS
When battling with equipment that is associated with a skill, the skill learning gauge increases for the amount of LP (Learning Points) displayed on the Battle Result Screen. The skill is acquired when the gauge is filled.
SETTING SKILLS
You can set skills for the SP remaining points. To set, select a skill and press the button. You can also press the
button to cancel. Pressing the
button allows you to cancel all the currently set skills.
SKILL SYMBOL
The skill symbol may appear when setting multiple skills in the same category. There are many different skill symbols and they produce special effects during an Over Limit. Each skill symbol has its own effect.

Fleck: Raises physical attack ability during Over Limit.
Rockra: Raises physical defence ability during Over Limit.
Sandor: Raises magical attack ability during Over Limit.

Twory: Increases experience points acquired when winning a battle during Over Limit.
Laitos: Recovers HP during Over Limit.
SKILL SYMBOL COMBINATION
When more than two characters simultaneously activate Over Limit, the effect of both characters’ skill symbols will combine and you get the effect of multiple skill symbols. e.g. When one character has fleck and another character has rockra, both characters’ physical attack abilities and physical defence abilities rise.
Strategy
You can set the actions for party members with the Control Mode set to Auto. The starting formation for each character in battle can also be set.

PERSONAL CALL
A Personal Call is a unique strategy for each character. Depending on the character it may give instructions to stay away from enemies, to take a guard action on the spot, or another, individual specific, strategy. When the Battle Menu is displayed, you can change the strategy to a controlled character’s Personal Call by holding down the and pressing down on the

.
EDIT STRATEGY
Press the button to configure and view descriptions of strategy settings for each character. You can change these settings by selecting the one you want to change and pressing the
button, then selecting the one you want and pressing the
button to confirm.
EDIT STRATEGY NAME
You can edit strategy name by pressing the button on the Strategy Details Screen.
FORMATION SETTING
Press the button on the Strategy Screen for Formation Setting. Select a character with the
button and move that character to where you want them to be when a battle starts. You can switch characters with
/
. To finish setting the formation, press the
button.
Player Side
You can place characters freely on the Player side of an Encounter. The character that is set on the right edge of the Player Side stands closest to the enemy.
COOKING
You can use ingredients you have obtained in your journey along with recipes learned for cooking. Cooking can help recover the HP and TP, and raise stats temporarily.
COOKING SCREEN
You can cook or set the menu(s) for when a battle is over.

Indicates the character who will cook.
Menu
Indicates the recipe that will be cooked.
Needed Ingredients
Indicates the ingredients required to cook the selected recipe.

Brief description of the strategy you have selected.

The number of stars indicates the cooking skill level.
COOKING SKILL LEVEL
By cooking the same item many times, the cooking skill level increases. A character with a high cooking level is unlikely to fail.
OBTAINING RECIPES
Get additional recipes by talking to the Wonder Chef in various places around the world. Also after you cook various items, you may create a new recipe.
HOW TO COOK
Select a character and a menu and confirm your choice with the button.
COOK
You can cook by pressing the button after selecting a character and a recipe.
If you are successful at making the selected recipe, you may be granted with a variety of effects. If you fail, the effects you receive will be weaker. Also, you cannot cook when the characters are full (Immediately after having cooked something).

Status
You can check each character’s status and basic stats, and also change their titles and attachments.
STATUS SCREEN
This indicates the character’s name, title, attachment, and basic stats. Use /
to switch the character.

Select from a list of Options to customise the character.
Basic Parameter
BASIC STATS
Shows character’s maximum values of HP & TP as well as other attributes, power and levels. These stats will increase as the character’s level rises. Stats vary due to the effect of the equipment or set of skills.
NOTE: Luck varies only when you stay the night at an inn; attributes vary only by equipment.
Lv.: Current level
HP: Hit Points. Indicates “current HP”. When HP reaches zero, the character is KO’ed.
TP: Technical Points. Indicates “current TP”. Consumed when you use artes. When TP reaches zero, the artes become unavailable.
NEXT: Required EXP for the next level-up.
EXP: Experience points. When they reach a certain point, the character is promoted to the next level and his or her stats go up.
Physical Attack: Attack power of weapons and strike artes.
Physical Defence: Defence power against weapons and artes.
Magic Attack: Attack power of magic artes.
Magic Defence: Defence power against magic artes.
Agility: The higher, the more a characters movement, speed, and critical rate go up.
Luck: How much luck you have affects battles, acquiring items, etc.
Attack Attribute: Normal attribute when the character attacks.
Resistance Attribute: When attacked, you receive less damage from this attribute.
Weak Attribute: When attacked, you receive more damage from this attribute.
TITLE
A title is bestowed when certain conditions are met during events. You can change it by first selecting the title you want to change and selecting a new title, finally pressing the button. Some titles may change the character’s appearance.
ATTACHMENT
Attachments are accessories that the characters can wear to change their appearance but will not affect their abilities. You can obtain them by synthesising items.
LIBRARY
You can view the story synopsis, various items and game information.
NOTE: Only the Records option is available at the start of the game.
Once you collect certain items, additional Options become available.
SYNOPSIS
You can read the storyline up to that point.
BATTLE BOOK
You can check information about battles. You obtain more content as the game progresses.
MONSTER BOOK
You can view data on monsters you have encountered. Press the button to switch information. When you use “Magic Lens” during battle, detailed data is added.

You can check detailed information about acquired items in the game.
WORLD MAP
You can view the map of the whole world. Locations you have visited are displayed on the map and visited Towns, Dungeons and Fields are listed. Use the /
to scroll through the options. Select a Town to see the Shop Info or select a Dungeon or Field to see Enemy Info. By pressing the
button, you can zoom in and out of the map.

DOG MAP
Pressing the button displays the Dog Map. Blue areas represents Repede’s territory (player side) and red represents rival territory. When all the territories become Repede’s, you will receive a title. To expand Repede’s territory, use consumable items such as simple tents or mats to rest on the Field Map.
NOTE: The Dog Map becomes available once you obtain a certain item.
RECORDS
You can view a lot of information based on the play data up to current point. Data includes the number of encounters, total enemies defeated and total damage given.
Save & Load
You can save and load your game data and change various settings on the Configs Screen here.
SAVE DATA
You can save your game data while on the Field Map.
LOAD DATA
You can start the game from where you left off by loading saved game data. Select the saved data that you want to load and press the button.
CONFIGS
You can change various game settings here. To select a category press the button. For categories adjusted with a bar, such as “BGM volume”, set with the

button to confirm the change.
Message Speed: Change the message display speed (4 levels)
Battle Difficulty: Set the battle difficulty between Easy, Normal and Hard. A new level becomes available once you clear the game.
