Battle
Awakening Gauge
The Awakening Gauge fills when you take damage. At 50% and higher, you can Awaken, use Awakened Abilities, and Awakened Team Attacks.
※The gauge will deplete over time once you have Awakened. Your Awakened state will end when the gauge is empty.
Health Gauge
You will lose if the Health Gauge is depleted. The entire team shares one gauge.
Ability Gauge
The Ability Gauge fills when you attack your opponent, when you are hit by attacks such as “Rushes” and “Throws”, and when focusing (holding down the button).
Cooldowns
The Cooldown represents the amount of time needed before you can switch characters or use support skills.
Mobility Gauge
The Mobility Gauge is used for chasing and escaping.
When the gauge is depleted, you will no longer be able to chase or escape for a set period of time.
The gauge will also deplete when you perform a larger sidestep.

The character you currently control.

Approach your opponent in a flash.

Sidestep: button + left stick
Sidestepping can be used to avoid an opponent’s attack.
You can perform a larger sidestep if you hold the left stick in place. Larger sidesteps will deplete the Mobility Gauge.

Reduce the damage from your opponent’s attack. Some attacks cannot be blocked.
High-Speed Dodge: button immediately before opponent’s attack
Dodge your opponent’s attack at lightspeed.

Use the button to approach your opponent in a flash and launch a Rush Pursuit.
Use the button to catch up with your opponent and smash them downwards.

Stop your opponent’s attack and perform an immediate counter.

Throw: button
Grab your opponent and throw them.
You can also throw a guarding opponent.

Hold down the button to fill your Ability Gauge.
Once your Ability Gauge is sufficiently full, you can use it to perform an ability.

Once the Cooldown period is over, you can switch to another character.

Use when a character switch is possible to perform the next character’s technique instead of switching.
If the player avatar is equipped with a specific character’s support skill, that skill will be used.
※If the player avatar is not equipped with a support skill, he/she will approach their opponent and perform a close-range attack.
Awakened Actions
Use over 50% of the Awakening Gauge to perform Awakened Actions.

Some characters acquire different abilities after transforming.

Perform an Awakened Ability unique to your character.

Perform an attack with your teammates and everyone enters an Awakened state.
Until the Awakening Gauge reaches 0, the Cooldown period for your support characters will be 0, allowing you to switch immediately. Doing so, however, will deplete the Awakening Gauge at a faster speed.
※The Cooldown period will return to default once the Awakening Gauge reaches 0.
Area Change/Area Destruction
Activate this effect when the Awakening Gauge begins to blink (at over 50%).
Hit your opponent with a Heavy Smash (hold down the
button for a set period).
Immediately hit your opponent with a Smash (hold down the
button for a set period).
Area Change or Area Destruction activates!
※Depending on the area, either an Area Change or Area Destruction will occur.

・Decreases opponent’s Awakening Gauge.
・Pursuit Attack can be performed after Area Change.
Area Destruction
・Boosts own Ability Gauge.
・Decreases opponent’s Awakening Gauge.
・Forces opponent to switch characters.
Pause Menu
Press the OPTIONS button during an offline match to temporarily pause the battle and display the pause menu.
Pressing the OPTIONS button will not pause the game during an online match.
Use the directional buttons or the left stick to select the menu item and the button to confirm.The contents of the menu depend on the gameplay mode.
■ Offline Match: Shared
Close Menu: Return to the match.
Ability List: View your character’s techniques. Press the button to return to the pause menu.
Retry: Restart the match.
End Match: End the match.
■ Offline Match: Specific Modes
Training Settings: Appears only when in Training Mode. Configure your Training Mode settings.
Change Character: Appears only at the Offline Battle Counter. Select a new character or stage.
■ Online Match: Shared
Forfeit: Forfeit and end the match.
Training Settings
Use the or
buttons to switch categories and configure your Training Mode settings.
Move the directional buttons or the left stick vertically to select each setting, then horizontally to alter the selected setting.
■ Gauge Settings
Adjust player and CPU’s Health, Ability, and Awakening Gauges.
■ CPU Settings
Change CPU status and strength.
Standing: CPU stands still.
Guard: CPU only performs guards.
CPU: Fight battle with CPU strength configured in the Battle Rules.
■ Skill Effect Settings
Enable or disable player and CPU’s skill effects.
Results
Winning
The results screen is displayed when you win a match.
You receive experience and gold according to the results of the battle.
With enough experience, you will level up.
Press the button to display the results menu.
Use the directional buttons or the left stick to select the menu item and the button to confirm.
The contents of the menu depend on the gameplay mode.
■ Offline Match
Rematch: Start a new match with the same character and stage.
Change Character: Select a new character or stage before starting a new match.
Watch Replay: Watch a replay of the battle. The replay will begin once you select “Yes” on the confirmation screen.
Save Replay: Save the replay data.
End Match: End the match and return to the Lobby.
■ Online Battle
Queue for Similar Match: Queue for an opponent with the same conditions.
Change Character: Select a new character or stage before queuing for an opponent.
Watch Replay: Watch a replay of the battle. The replay will begin once you select “Yes” on the confirmation screen.
Save Replay: Save the replay data.
End Match: End the match and return to the Lobby.
Losing
If you lose the match, you will still see the results screen.
